The Middle is the Best Part

I try to make sure my middle child doesn't get lost in the crowd of having an older sibling and younger sibling.  The oldest always gets special attention because everything she does is new and she gets to do everything first.  And then the baby sibling is always ooohed and ahhhed over because she is "the baby" and the last one we will ever get to see do this or that, like starting kindergarten and such.   I have heard so many times how the middle child sometimes feels like they never get enough attention and it affects them personally.  So since my middle child has been, well, "the middle child", I have always told her that the middle is the best part.  She didn't get it until I told her, "You know, like the middle part of an Oreo cookie is the best part.  It wouldn't be that great without the middle."  Now, her and I often think of things where the middle is the best part and she feels really special being the middle child :)

My Heart, Your Hands

Sometimes my girls fight.  Many times they can't even look at each other without arguing.  But they are also each others very best friend.  To see them with each other is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.  They are there for each other, always holding each others hand when needed.  They are there to hold each others heart when it's broken.   It's a bond that they are bleesed to have and I pray to God, that they are this close forever.

About a year ago, my husband bought me my very own tools and every once in awhile I get them out and get down to business!  I had some new equipment to put together and me and my tools got the job done!  I love it when I don't have to ask for help!

Latte Motivation

I was freezing, I was tired, I needed warm, wake me up kind of motivater.  I drove directly to perfect place to get it (well, besides the gym).  One small skinny vanilla latte, please and thank you!

Oh My Darlin' Clementine

Have you ever sang a song over and over and over (and over) in your head and it just won't go away?   As I was peeling this Clementine tonight, I started to sing "Oh My Darlin' Clementine" in my head.  That would be thanks to my brother in law Joe who brought up the song last week while my kids were eating the citrus fruit.  So now, it's time to turn in for the night and what do ya know?  I am still humming the tune to this darn song!  Thank you, JOE :)

Snow Gear

Today, the girls and I hit the snow hills for a little sledding.  It was a TON of fun!  We laughed so hard and really enjoyed ourselves.  Probably going to pay for it in the morning though ... lol!

The last of the thirty somethings...

This is it!  The beginning of the last year of my "thirty somethings".  How in the heck did it get here so fast???  But, ya know, I'm OK with it.  39 doesn't bother me.  39 is good.  I look at where my years have taken me and I am so blessed and so thankful for who and where I am.  As a matter of fact, I think I may celebrate the whole year!

My remote is WHERE?!?!

We have been looking for the remote to our TV for what seems like forever (really only about a week). Tore this house apart several times...nothing. Tonight, we find out my Mother-in-law accidently took it home with her.... to ARKANSAS! You gotta be kidding me, right?!?!

Sassy Silliness

So my giggle monster was being herself, giggling and striking poses when she went into a spin and twirled her self sillier than she already is.  We get the giggles pretty regularly at my house....

No one will ever know... :)

Laugh if you want to cause I know I sure did when I first seen this but this stuff WORKS!   "SPRITZ THE BOWL BEFORE YOU GO AND NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER KNOW!"  I bought one for everyone on my Christmas list this year :) Even my kids' teachers, LOL!!

Toasty

So, it's freezing cold out and I am such a WIMP in the cold!  But thankfully I have this cute little heater that I bought for my camper but it works perfect in my office!  Seriously, if you need a space heater, this is the one.  Just look how decorative it is :)  I personally don't know how I would make it in this cold without it.  As always, BE SAFE with any space heater.

I got a new washer and dryer and have been doing lots of laundry!  A little phychedelic twist on the portrait tonight :)

SNOW DAY!!

No school today!  The girls were out playing in the snow when I looked out the window to check on them.  This is what I saw and I loved it!

Big Smiles Now

I was trying to correct some lighting tonight and asked my daughter to quickly pose for me.  I was pleasantly suprised to see the big smile come across her face.  She got her braces off last month and is happy to show her pretty teeth now :)  I did some glamour editing to the portrait just for fun.

Still The One

Twenty One years ago tonight, I went on my first date with this hot guy.  Yep, he's still "the one".  :)

Heavy Heart

I am saddened and heartbroken for the tragedy that took place at Millard South Highschool today.  My thoughts and prayers are with each and every person that was affected by this horrible situation.

All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten

As my girls sat down to do their homework tonight, I went back and forth helping with 4th grade homework and then to Kindergarten homework.  Back and forth, back and forth.  I stopped just for a moment and looked at my kindergartener and smiled.  Although I have done Kindergarten homework with 3 different kids now and it has become quite repetitious for me, this is all new to her.  She has never done it before. Her work is just as hard and just as important as the 4th graders.  And this is where she will learn everything she really needs to know about life.

Share everything.

Play fair.

Don't hit people.

Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Flush.

Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

Live a balanced life -

Learn some and think some

And draw and paint and sing and dance

And play and work everyday some.

Take a nap every afternoon.

When you go out into the world,

Watch out for traffic,

Hold hands and stick together.

Be aware of wonder.

Christmas Again!

Every year (well, almost every year), my in-laws are unable to come for Christmas until after the first of the year.  So our holidays are spread out just a little bit longer than most.  The time is here and we get to enjoy their company.  The girls are so excited to see Grandma (Papa won't be here until later this week) and after the girls went to bed, we unloaded my mother-in-laws car.  This is one of the (many) items brought in.  A basket full of gifts.  Yep, in a few days we will have Christmas again!

"Shine like the top of the Chrystler building"

Today was a cleaning day at my house.  You know, the way everyone does the first of the new year after they take down the Christmas decorations and feel like they need to de-clutter.  Yep, that was us today.  My girls love the movie, "Annie", so I always tell them we are going to make this house "shine like the top of the Chrystler building."  So while I was making things pretty around here, I thought I'd make my photo pop a bit with some embellishments too :)

My first photo of the year is of my name!  My Grandparents got this for me when I was about 10 years old or so.  THAT was a long time ago!  I have kept it all these years and have always proudly displayed it.  I have a new office (yeah me!) and it sits in my office to remind me of who I am and where I have been.
